What does the Herbal Activ Peel Involve
This treatment requires 2 x Face Plus Facials bookmarked at the beginning and end of the 5 days. On day 1 the herbs are massaged into the face and allowed to seep for 10 minutes. Prior to the application of the herbs our Face Plus Dermal Therapist will conduct a cleansing facial complete with extractions (if necessary).
The herbs can cause some discomfort as they immediately react with the effected skin. Feel free to advise your therapist to slow down or ease up on the massage pressure. At the end of the facial a cooling and moisturising gauze is applied to soothe the area.
Your skin will feel wind/sunburnt.
At the completion of this facial you will receive 3 full size take home products as well as an instruction sheet to carefully follow.
Over the next two to three days the top layer of skin will gradually become drier and will eventually start to peel. Remember, this facial is condensing your usual 28-day skin cycle into 3-5 days.
The peeling can cause some emotional distress so it is best to avoid making any social plans.
The rules over the next 5 days are as follows:
- do not get your face wet. If you do, pat it dry immediately (do not rub your face)
- do not pick or remove the peeling skin. This will result in damage to the sensitive new layer of skin underneath.
• After the ‘Post Treatment’ apply sun screen prior to sun exposure. Also limit the time of exposure to the sun, wind and weather.
On day 5 you come back in for a final facial. This is a post treatment facial to nurture and hydrate the new layer of skin.
The Herbal Active Peel is a result proven treatment. Although, it can feel a bit uncomfortable for the 5 days the positives far outweigh the negatives.
