Reiki Energy Healing

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique for stress reduction, relaxation and promotes healing. It is based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch to activate the natural healing processes of the patient’s body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Reiki is based on the principle that if one’s ‘life force energy’ is low then we are more likely to get sick or feel stressed. However, when it is high we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
What does Reiki mean?
The word Reiki is made up of two Japanese words, Rei meaning “A higher Power” and Ki which is “our life force energy”.
Reiki is the energy that exists in all living things and everyone has the ability to connect with their own healing energy and use it to strengthen energy in themselves or assist others.
Who is our Reiki Master?
We are extremely lucky to have Tania, our accomplished Reiki master work with us at Face Plus Bondi Beach. Tania is not only a qualified Reiki Master but also a certified reflexologist, cupping practitioner, Yamuna Body Rolling instructor and teaches students the Diploma of Remedial Massage.
Tania’s energy work complements her extensive experience with clients recovering from accidents, injury and chronic pain.
“To become a Reiki Master you are first attuned by another Reiki Master. The attunement transfers reiki from the Reiki Master to the student and this allows them to access the universal energy to treat others” shares Tania Dobbie, Reiki Master.
What does a Reiki treatment involve?
The Reiki Master will either lay their hands on the body, or can have their hands above the body, in the auric field of the guest.
The Reiki treatment will feel different for each individual. It treats you physical body, your mind and your spirit. It heals and promotes peace and relaxation and is commonly used in conjunction with other medical and therapeutic treatments.
Anyone can receive a Reiki Energy Healing session. It is especially beneficial for those who cannot receive a physical massage due to an inflammatory illness or those undergoing medical treatment. It is especially helpful and is used in hospitals on cancer patients, or the elderly.
Patients can have Reiki as often as you want, and each session will assist in balancing and healing. Because the body is releasing memories and/or pain from the body, it can be more detoxifying than a physical massage. You will usually feel an immediate response after receiving Reiki. You can even feel light, relaxed and calmer.
“We recommend you have a restful evening after a reiki session and that you drink a lot of water” Tania Dobbie, Reiki Master, Face Plus Medispa, Bondi Beach.
Experience a subtle yet powerful healing that channels the universal life force to create balance and equilibrium to your body, mind, and spirit.

Rinazell cream by Dr. Spiller

Ambulance in a jar Rinazell healing properties.

This rich repair cream is ideal for use following IPL/ Laser Genesis treatments, herbal peels or dermapen ( micro-needling) to visibly enhance the skin’s restorative process.

At Face Plus Medispa we pride ourselves on our results driven treatment menu. While we offer a number of laser and skin rejuvenation treatments, we make sure to compliment these with at home products that continue your skin’s revitalisation journey.

The Rinazell Cream by Dr. Spiller uses peptide technology to replicate the skin’s own natural barrier function to help moisturise and soothe post-treatment skin. After an active treatment such as IPL or a herbal phyto peel or dermapen it is common that your skin feels acutely sensitive, red and inflamed. The Rinazell Cream calms and hydrates the skin with ingredients such as sweet almond oil, lanolin and lecithin.

How do you apply the Rinazell Cream:
Each morning and night once you have cleansed and toned your skin, apply a pearl size amount evenly to the face and neck areas, gently patting the product into the skin. Follow with an application of sunscreen for daytime use.
Antioxidant Ingredients in the Rinazell Cream:
MILK PEPTIDES:

Biomimetic peptides extracted from whey (milk protein) that increase intercellular signalling via the stimulation of transforming growth factors. Collagen, hyaluronic acid and fibronectin production become increased providing a strengthened matrix, support system and repair.

VITAMIN E
A skin-identical potent antioxidant, naturally secreted by the sebaceous gland for environmental protection.

BEESWAX
A barrier functioning skin protectant rich in biomimetic wax esters, triglycerides and fatty acids.

LANOLIN
A natural wax that contains biomimetic wax esters to provide superior barrier function.

SWEET ALMOND OIL
Botanical oil rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory fatty acids and vitamin E.

Why happiness results in glowing skin

I’m sure you’ve heard of the bridal glow or new mum glow.

It’s that look that a bride gives her husband as she sees him for the first time at the altar.

Or the look a mum gives her newborn baby as she cradles them in her arms for the first time. Take away the makeup on the bride and the sweaty red face for the mum and they both have an undeniable glow. It’s happiness in it’s purest form and it’s written all over their face.

At Face Plus Medispa it is common for us to see many distressed clients worrying about their varying skin concerns. Acne, for instance, is one of the greatest causes of anxiety and distress. With acne being so visible and almost impossible to hide it’s completely understandable that it should cause a client anguish, however, the stress can often trigger and flare even more breakouts.

Research has shown that stress and breakouts are inextricably linked. The body responds to stress by directing blood flow and oxygen to areas vital for fighting dress and withdraws them from other areas like the skin. The skin is subsequently starved of blood and oxygen making it dehydrated, full lifeless and prone to clogged pores and breakouts.

At Face Plus we encourage our clients to think of skin care from a holistic point of view. Mind body connection is very important. We ensure our clients understand the connection between mood and skin health. Negativity and stress release cortisol into our body which effects your gut health. With your gut functioning as your bodies second brain and the controller of all of your hormones, it’s natural an unbalance will show up on your face.

When we are feeling happy and relaxed our bodies natural response is to repair and renew itself. A good mood balances your hormones which helps to heal inconsistencies in your skin. This isn’t to say that happiness is the be all and end all to having a glowing complexion, however, it’s certainly an imperative starting point.
To get the happiness glow we recommend the following things:

  1. Eat food as close to its natural state as possible

Chemically processed food (ie. Fast food or packaged food) takes too long to break down in our body as it’s registered as a foreign object. By eating an organic diet, your body is functioning with ease which leads to a happy gut and therefore happy skin.

  1. Meditate to stay calm & stress free read our blog here
  2. Make sleep a priority. Try and rest for 8 hours a night. A rested body is a happy body
  3. Exercise every day.

Exercise doesn’t have to be a spin class or lifting heavy weights. Exercise can be walking the dog, taking the stairs instead of the lift and walking to the shops instead of driving. It’s vital to move your body for 30 minutes EVERYDAY!

  1. Develop a skincare regime and stick to it

Don’t skip your moisturiser and don’t go to bed with makeup on. Dedicate 5 minutes, morning and night to making your skincare regime a top priority. Consistency is key and the results are glowing, healthy skin.

  1. Go chemical free

Ditch the excessive plastic, the constant microwaved meals, the household chemicals and artificial makeup. Evaluate all of the items you come in contact with on any given day and see if there is a healthier alternative.

  1. Regular Dermal appointments

Face Plus Medispa should be considered your personal trainer for your skin. If you have long standing skincare issues, the key is to have regular appointments to address, assess and resolve them.

While budget can sometimes be of a concern, a deep cleansing facial once a month or every 6 weeks pays dividends when it results in a happy, glowing complexion and attitude.

Why you must learn to meditate

Be mindful of your mind!

Technology dominates our day to day lives so much so that it’s common to find the only time when we don’t have a device switched on and/or glued to our face is when we are sleeping.

The constant connectivity and wavelengths greatly impact our psyche. We have seen a rapid rise in diagnosed depression and anxiety and technology is largely to blame. Whether we’re being judged on social media, bombarded with news & paid advertising or feeling the pressure to constantly check in with work emails and correspondence, there is this expectation that we must keep up. Meditation is an easy to master technique where the prime objective is to slow down and switch off. Essentially, the exact opposite of what modern life demands.

What is Meditation?
Meditation is a means of transforming the mind. Meditation practices involve developing techniques that encourage concentration, clarity, emotional positivity and a calm seeing of the true nature of things. Like anything, meditation is a skill you need to practice. With regular work and patience these nourishing, focused states of mind can deepen into profoundly peaceful and energised states of mind.

How do I start meditating?
While technology is definitely the root cause of our inability to focus, it has also lead to some amazing technological advances to allow the practice of meditation into everyone’s devices.

At Face Plus Medispa we are big fans of the following Meditation apps
Headspace
Calm
The Mindfulness App

Starting with just a minute or two a day these apps allow you to relax with guided meditations and mindfulness techniques that bring calm, wellness and balance to your life. In a guided meditation, a narrator or teacher explains the dynamics of the mind and how it’s likely to behave during meditation. (This is the approach.) The teacher may also explain meditation techniques. (This is the practice.) Finally, the teacher may explain how to take these techniques into everyday life. (This is the integration.)

Why should I meditate?
For many people, meditation has become a tool for managing stress. For some, it helps to promote improved health, including a better quality of sleep. For others, it helps them achieve some underlying sense of peace, and that feeling of contentment, no matter what they’re dealing with in life. When we’re in a healthier place mentally, then we’re bound to interact with others in a more positive way, meaning meditation can benefit our relationships, too.

When we meditate, we’re cultivating an awareness of the present moment. We’re training the mind to better understand how and why we think and feel the way we do, with the aim of fundamentally transforming our experience, and perspective, of everyday life.
