Tensage Intensive Serum 40 is the only physician-dispensed skincare line that utilises the secretion and eggs from snails. Who could ever have imagined that this seemingly unremarkable little gastropoda is in reality quite remarkable! The snail in the spotlight is the Cryptomphalus aspersa snail from Santander, Spain. Their ancestors date back to the Precambrian period where life was only possible in the sea!
500 million years later these little guys are nourished in a sanctuary with a diet of carrots and lettuce to produce a secretion with a clinically proven healing power that stimulates the human body’s own stem cells to form new, healthy skin cells.
It was originally shown to be effective in treating humans with cases of radiation dermatitis following the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. After this discovery scientists began harnessing the secretion for skincare benefits.
The secretion is safely collected in a non-harmful, patented process by placing the snails in a gently rotating vehicle to stimulate the excretion process. Afterwards snails are returned to their sanctuary for several weeks.
